About The Author


Dr. Stephan Adams PsyD, LMSW-ACP has been a therapist for over 20 years and has been an ADDer for 50 years. He received his BA from Miami University, his MSW from The Worden School of Social Services, Our Lady of the Lake University, and has his doctorate in psychology from California Coast University. During his career he has directed a 24 bed, inpatient residential treatment center for children and adolescents, a partial day-treatment hospital program, the clinical aspects of an alternative school and family therapy agency, The Center For Neurofeedback and Counseling, and has consulted for several juvenile probation departments.

He is currently in private practice in South Central Texas and speaks throughout the state for a consortium of universities including UT at Austin, UT at Arlington, Our Lady of the Lake University and the University of Houston. Topics include ADHD/Positive Power Kids™ and Anger, Stress, Anxiety, Depression and Behavior dissorders in Young Children, Adolescents, and Adults. After experiencing multiple traumas in childhood, in addition to ADHD, Dr. Adams has had a life-long goal of writing materials that would help children who are at risk. He is currently finishing work on True Tower Kids, a program like Positive Power Kids but for children who have suffered significant trauma. He is also working on a home-based program for Positive Power Kids™ and their parents.
